As part of Drury University's new Wellness initiative, the student Intramural program is undergoing a series of changes, changes that new Director of Wellness & Fitness Matt Miller hopes will encourage and excite Drury students. "As a Drury alum, I'm aware of the level of participation and passion with which our students participate in intramural sports. Because of their importance to our students, I feel a responsibility to provide programs that are offered in a professional manner. My goal is to have more sports, better run programs, and more opportunities for students to become involved while being physically active." Miller named Joe Beaubien the Intramural Program Manager in Spring '09. Joe is a Drury graduate and will begin official duties in the Fall '09 semester. Joe served as the student assistant for the Drury Women's Basketball team while an undergraduate student, and also has experience working for the Springfield Cardinals. "Joe brings a high level of motivation and organization to this position, and I think our Intramural programs will benefit greatly from his leadership and vision, " Miller said of Beaubien. Beaubien said of his new position at Drury, "We have an opportunity to make great progress and improve the current sports. Our goals of having more sports and an overall championship are realistic. I'm excited to try to make some positive changes."
